1949-1954 Vibrator Tube
ORDER #794This is the tube most often asked for. The original mechanical vibrator tube used points similar to what was used in ignition system. These are subject to wear, pitting and oxidation. Vibrator gets its name from metal armature that vibrates to open and close points. The hum you hear when you turn on the radio is a result of this action. Solid state vibrator has no moving parts so it is silent in operation and lasts for years.
